Saturday Morning Sesame Street Classic Kitsch: Drums!

I have been looking for this clip for SO LONG. SOOOOOOO long. If I had remembered that it was part of this “Sneak Peek Previews” series of clips, it might have come along a lot faster, but clearly I couldn’t think of that detail. And to compound my delight in finding this clip, it’s even better than I could possibly hope for. Here’s the thought process on this one:

- I had forgotten about the very Edith and Archie Bunker relationship dynamics between Telly and Oscar. God, I feel sorry for Telly. Very close to how I feel about Milton from Office Space.
- These kids, hanging out under the bridge… what? Where are your parents? Why are you looking through old purses you find lying around? Go home!
- Maybe the reasons they’re kicking around near the dumpy bridge area, however, is to find oil drums for that Fagin-esq character who makes musical instruments! Of course! Pick a pocket or two, kids!
- I know, another manufacturing clip. This might be the last… but I make no promises.
- Damn, I was hoping there’d be a little “Pass the Dutchie”… but I will say those kids certainly sound good.
- I love the half phooey “Phoo” scale of judgment. I think this may start getting some rotation in own evaluation of things.

Enjoy!

Saturday Morning Sesame Street Classic Kitsch: Saxamaphone

As previously revealed on fjetsam, I love the manufacturing clips from Sesame Street. Could these clips have led to the popularity in shows like “How It’s Made”? I would be willing to guess, “sure.” I have to say this is probably one of the more clever clips from the Sesame Street catalogue. Instead of some catchy and poppy Joe Raposo number in the background, the use of saxophone is way cool.

But speaking of cool (and way awesome, and totally bitchin’, or whatever else you want to attribute to it), next week’s clip - another manufacturing clip, as it were. See you then!
