As some of you may have noticed, I’ve recently made some changes to the layout of the site to accomodate some advertising. The ads you see are supplied by the Google AdSense program. For those of you unfamiliar, Google Adsense is an advertising program that places ads on your site based on content. So if you blog an awful lot about, say, flowers, you’ll see ads relating to flowers. If onions are your bag, you’ll see ads about onions. If your site is a hodge podge of pop culture nonsense like mine, you’ll likely see a variety of ads ranging from video games retailers to satellite radio. But what I didn’t expect to see was…
…sacrilege!
Ok - maybe I’m being a little dramatic. But still - I was pretty surprised to see an ad for “Jesus Didn’t Exist?” attached to the page for my story about the cast of Arrested Development. Due to the nature of the AdSense program, I’m not actually allowed to follow the link and see what it’s all about. My guess is some right wing religious site that assures you that the big JJ did in fact walk the earth with mortal man — but then again it could just as easily be an ad for some sort of atheist cult.
Either way I thought it would be fun to share this, my first adventure with Google Ads with you.

I clicked, I saw and here is what you’ve got on the clickthrough.
It is an ad for a documentary called “The God who wasn’t there”. I am sure if you put that title into a search engine, you would get to the page that it refers to.
Put it this way. I’d definitely like to watch it.
